Vivaldi’s work “The Four Seasons” was made even more popular in the movie hit by the same name starring Carol Burnett and Alan Alda. The musical depiction of the four seasons of the year is a virtuosic tour de force for solo violin and orchestra and has been used as a vehicle by virtually every famous violinist both in performance and on recordings. Lesser known but equally spectacular is Piazzola’s musical version of natures four seasons. Hector Guzman and Concertmaster Vesselin Demirev intertwine complete performances of both works for a special ending to the 2009 – 2010 Season with your Plano Symphony Orchestra.
